Dutch Reign on Irish Soil

Kim Ouweleen 3d from Amsterdam won this year’s sun-beaten Galway tournament with a perfect 5/5 score. Justyna Kleczar 2k pipped Marek Gutkowski 8k to second place on SOS, both on four wins. 20 players took part, click here for results.

Six players flew over from Ireland for the annual Amsterdam Go tournament in Amstelveen last weekend. All players did well getting 50% wins or more – Rory Wales 5/6, Thomas Shanahan 4/5, Claas Roever 3/5, Kevin Doherty 3/5, Art Gower 2/3, and Justyna Kleczar 1/2. Full results available here.

The World Amateur Go Championship is approaching. The IGF’s online new channel, Ranka will be providing full coverage. Ireland are going to be represented by Colin MacSweeny this year, we wish him luck in his individua,l international debut, on the 11th of May. Ireland expects a podium finish.
