24 Nov – New Irish Champion

Roman Pszonka won his first Irish Championship today. He beat reigning champion James Hutchinson by 4.5 points, playing with black. Csaba Mero, 6 dan, has commented the games for us (read on to see the games)

20 Nov – Ireland Lose

Ireland’s campaign to top League C was thrown into disarray tonight. The higher rated Slovakia trounced us by 4-0, with a default point on top. Lets wish for better luck against Slovenia in the next round.

18 Nov – Ouweleen omnipotent

Newsflash: Kim Ouweleen has retained his UCC Open title, holding off the challenge from Gavin Rooney, who came second. The tournament had a good turn out, with 30 players taking part. Results can be viewed here. Read on for the full report…

17 Nov – IGA Final Commences

As the UCC Open got underway in Cork, the Irish Final was being played out on KGS. Roman Pszonka (white) won against James Hutchinson by resignation after a nasty ko fight. If Roman wins again next week, we will have a new Irish Champion. You can download the game here.

Top 8 Kick-Off, EGM Announced

Nov 4 – Pair Go news

The 23rd International Amateur Pair Go Championship took place this weekend in Japan. Ireland were represented by Sheena Walsh and Ken Savage. They scored 1/5 to take 29th place, success coming against a Chinese pair. Congratulations to them! Official website and actual game below…
