31st Jan – Ireland win game

Yes, it really is true. Ireland have finally won a game. Tonight we played Bulgaria, and we came out on top by 3 games to 1. Hopefully this will cement our position in 4th place. For the games records and scoretables, see Pandanet’s site.

10 Jan – Ireland draw again

Tonight Ireland advanced to 4th place in league C of the European team championships. We drew with. then league leaders, Italy. This is our third draw out of 4 now, and one day we might win a match.

11 Dec – Ulster Triumph in Interprovincials

For the past two years, Connaught have been the winners of the Interprovincial title. This year though, they failed to qualify, opening up the chance for a different winner. So it was then, that Ulster triumphed 2-1 over Leinster, to take their first title. Scoretables here.

The first game in this year’s online interprovincial competition was played today on KGS. Ulster, boasting a revamped squad, came out on top against Munster, with a 2-1 victory. Results page.

Ireland lost another game in the Pandanet Team Championship tonight by 1-3. However, the pride of Cork, Rory Wales, managed to put a shine on an otherwise dark night as he crushed another dan player. This board point should see us hold on to 8th place, 1 above our seeding.

Yes, the headline is accurate. Ireland have won. After taking an early lead on the weekend, through James Tea Hutchinson’s win on board 2, Ireland finished off the job tonight. Beating Italy on boards 1 and 4 whilst affording a consolation point on board 3. Full details at the official site.

Ireland’s PGETC team put in a fine performance tonight. Paired against the veritable titan of European Go, Luxembourg, they showed they were no easy targets.
