Noel (w) faced Rory (b) on KGS last night in another Top 8 battle. In what was an interesting game White gradually pulled himself back from a poor start to win by 9.5 points. This keeps alive Noel’s chances of reaching the final. The full scoretable is available.

The 2010 Top 8 kick off weekend ran very smoothly in the excellent surroundings of the Burlington Hotel, ably secured by a certain Mr N.Mitchell. Taking an early lead where the northerners James Hutchinson and Ian Davis, both finishing the weekend on 4/4. You can find all the results in the Top 8 scoretable.

After a long year, the Irish Championship finally came to end in a tense game. As usual between these two it was a game that could have gone either way. After two games this week, both played on KGS, Claas Roever and Ian Davis are all square at 1 win apiece. Ian won the first game playing Black, while Claas leveled with Black in the next game. The deciding game should take place next week.
