A 4kyu player, he was very active on KGS and participated in the inter-provincial matches representing Leinster, and Ireland in the European Team Championship. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.]]></description>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday, in the last remaining game of the Top 8 league, Noel Mitchell secured a win against Claas Roever to force a play-off for second and third place and, more importantly, the opportunity to challenge Roman Pszonka for the Championship. After a break for food, Noel and Claas moved straight into the play-off game. Noel was again victorious by a mid-game resignation. The dates for the first two Championship will be announced in the near future.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 2013 Irish Go Congress occurred over the weekend with 38 players attending in sunny Dublin. Csaba Mero, 6d Hungary, won the main tournament, The 2nd Confucius Cup, for the second time with a perfect 5/5 score. <p>Roger Daniel, 6k UK, and Mikulas Kubita, 15k Czech Republic, won all five of their games, while Thomas Shanahan won four. </p>
<p>The Friday evening Rapid tournament was won by Yuanbo Zhang, 4d China, with five straight wins, while Roman Pszonka, 3d Poland, came second with four.</p>
