Leinster Open 2026

A new event on the IGA calendar this year, the Leinster Open 2026 will take place alongside the DCU Open Chess Tournament on Saturday 21st February, as a 1 day event with 3 rounds of fast classical, open to members of the IGA and national go associations from abroad.

On Friday 20th February in the afternoon, before round 1 of the chess tournament, exact time TBD, there will be an introductory workshop to teach the rules of the game in an adjoining room, followed by free time to casually play other beginners, run by Emmet O’Rourke.

The IGA will run a stall outside the playing hall during the weekend, come say hi and maybe play someone new!

The games will be played on silent clocks, so watch your time in byo-yomi!
