Dear Go Players,
The IGA is currently inviting all eligible players to register their intent to enter the 2007-2008 Top8 Qualifiers.
To do so, simply send an email to : info at irish-go dot org.
You should then receive a confirmation email from one of the IGA committee members. If you do not receive such confirmation email, please contact any committee member by email or by phone as soon as possible.
Registration should be done by the 31st of October 2007 as the qualification stages will take place between the 1st and the 30th of November.
A draw will take place on the 1st of November to decide the game pairings and the result of this draw will be published on this web site.
As a reminder, eligible players must satisfy the following criteria:
- The Irish National Championship is open to all Irish nationals, and to non-nationals who have been permanently resident in Ireland for at least five years, and are eligible for Irish citizenship.
- All representatives from Ireland to the WAGC must be Irish citizens. Hence, a non-national participating in the Irish Championship, as allowed by the above rule, would have to take out Irish citizenship before being allowed to travel to the WAGC.
- Participants must have a strength of 7kyu or greater.
Please note that Top8 Qualifiers participants will be asked to pay their IGA membership fee during the qualifications period.
Also, the top 4 players of this year Top8 are automatically qualified for the 2007-2008 Top8 tournament.
